RED: Heartiness and Valor
WHITE: Purity and Innocence
BLUE: Vigilance, Perseverance, & Justice
Given that I just posted a crazy long, DTR blogging blog... I feel all selfish in that I didn't mention one of the greatest holidays of the year!! The chance to celebrate our freedoms and to honor those who have made it possible, and to remember to elect those who will hold our country with the same esteem and honor that it deserves to be the great and wonderful place that it is.

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America: And to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

Here's hoping that we teach our children the values and principles that our country were established upon. Here is hoping that our children recognize the blessing and privilege we have to live in a country that has protected and secured by the blood of our nation's heroes. Here's hoping our children KNOW the pledge of allegiance and the National Anthem, that they aren't among those who become the punchline during Jay Leno's Jay-Walking when it comes to feeling a patriotism and loyalty to our God-given county. Let them be among these young Lubbock, TX girls (like 4-9, at this performance, I think) who have been taught and sing with deserving respect and emotion: The Star Spangled Banner.
