Rabbits and Birthdays

This week has been craziness for us, and so I'll try to wrap it up in as few words as possible. Hopefully you won't get bored, but if you do... just stop reading. Because of our wonderful computer issues, I never mentioned that we got a rabbit for Easter. He was so cute and fluffy. The boys chose to name him Thumper (super original, I know). We've loved him. We've played with him and held him, and really grown attatched to the small little animal. (I honestly can't believe how attatched I get to animals).

Anyway, Monday I had some friends over and we were just chatting away when Kimball came in crying. He said that Thumper wasn't moving. I went and checked, and sure enough, he had died. It was so sad. I couldn't help crying. I kept thinking I was embarrassed because my friends were there, and I couldn't hold it in, but I just sat holding the rabbit and cried. I guess it was even harder knowing how he died. Anyway, my sweet Kimball, with mountains of faith, went in his room to pray that Heavenly Father would let Thumper start moving again. I did my best to explain that Thumper was going to stay with Heavenly Father and Jesus and his body wouldn't move anymore. It broke my heart. The week went on and we prayed and talked about Thumper a lot, but at least the tears faded.
On Thursday, Kimball had his FIFTH birthday. Seriously... how does that happen? He was so excited. He made up his own guest list and settled on a "Top Gun" birthday party. Here's a slide show of the parties. (He had a friend party on Thursday and then a family party on Friday).

You're such a crafty, resourceful mom! Your decorations and cake are PERFECT! I may have to come to you for ideas when Wyatt has his party in August.

Fun stuff!

P.S. Sorry to hear about Thumper. It's awfully easy to develop love for pets. But when they go, it's a nice opportunity to really help kids understand the plan of salvation. I know Halle had heard it before, but after Coco died, I think that's when she really "got it".

Cute party! I am impressed with how well you decorate. I am hoping once I have kids all these homemaking talents that I want will come to the surface :)

Sorry to hear about Thumper. Your boys are so cute and you are such great parents.

I'm so sorry about you bunny-I had two bunnies die when I was a girl and I was so sad (they are the cutest). I love how tenderhearted you are-you just love everyone and everything.
Looks like a great party-we are sad we missed it, Mason would have loved being there. You have any ideas for Mason's 4th birthday for me I am not very creative like you.
