Beware! Your heart will melt!
My boys got their school pictures back and, of course, I have to show them off. If you will, for a moment, induldge my shameless bragging rights, I would like to convince any and all readers that these are the cutest, sweetest, most precious three boys in the entire universe!
Kimball, the charmer. Don't you just want to give him a hug? He is so friendly and outgoing. So many people have told me that they love to be around him and his enthusiastic outlook for life.
You have to admit, McKay is a heartbreaker with those hazel eyes, and if you could only see those eyelashes! The most common comment about McKay is that he is sweet. He loves to snuggle and wins over everyone he meets. Many people don't even notice his arm.
My Baby Benson. How precious is that smile? He is a Momma's boy and I love it. Believe it or not, he looks like his daddy. (A lot of people think he looks like by brother). He's going to be darker than Kimball and McKay and I have no doubt that he will be just as handsome!

Quick trivia: what do aliens, prophets and the first Thanksgiving have in common?
On Thanksiving morning, Josh playe
d football and so the boys and I had some fun making turkey pictures. Then, I tried to teach them about the first Thanksgiving with the INDIANS and the PILGRIMS. Then, we talked about the things that they were thankful for. McKay was thankful for: Mom (aaawww), the boats (I guess from the story of the pilgrims) and the food. Kimball was thankful for: the park (no big surprise), brushing his teeth (random, but I guess it's a good one), and for playing outside. NOW THIS IS THE BEST PART: When Josh got home I asked Kimball to tell his dad what we had done. (Hoping he would tell about the indians and pilgrims) He didn't really say anything, so I asked him if he wanted to tell dad what he was thankful for. Proud as punch, he said, "The 'aliens and prophets'!" I thought I was going to die! It was so funny. I guess you never know exactly how kids will interpret things. So the answer to the trivia? According to Kimball, the aliens and the prophets shared the first Thanksgiving.

"Krispie" turkies
Monday was Grandparent Day at Kimball's preschool. Papa went and they made these cute little turkeys. I am thinking about making them with McKay and Collin too. They are just rice krispie treats rolled into balls, two chocolate cookies (for the back of the feathers and the feet) candy corn for feathers, mini M&Ms for eyes and licorice for the little gobble thing. (Not really sure what the actual term is) Icing held them all in place. Kimball was stoked that you could eat the glue. He told me, "It's not yucky, Mom. It's just wike sugar." Thanks Papa for a fun day at preschool! Sorry that Grammy got sick that day.Monday, November 19, 2007
Did somebody say DaVinci?
Kimball loves to draw. He loves writing his ABC's and spelling out words and drawing mostly airplanes (jets), rockets, trains, cars... anything that moves basically. This is a picture that he drew of the Vernal temple. I thought it was so cute I had to post it. You can see the temple, the house next to the temple and the sidewalk. Remember my disclaimer about boasting and bragging? Well this is it. I guess my last post was a whining rant. As long as I am at it, I might as well post this picture of McKay as well. He loves to help me cook. It doesn't really matter what it is, he wants
to help, and is favorite place to be is right next to me on the counter. I guess his favorite thing to do is crack the eggs. We usually have to do that in a separate bowl, for obvious reasons. In this picture, we were making French Toast and so he was loving it because he got to crack three eggs! Ha ha ha... he just walked up to me typing and saw this picture and asked if we could go cook eggs. "Eggs are yum," he says. "I wike to cook wike dis one pitcher." (If only I thought he could keep it down.)Rotavirus anyone?
Not really sure if this is what we've got, but it sure does remind me of when Kimball had it. McKay was sick Saturday and Kimball got sick Saturday night and I was sick Sunday. We are all still moping around. The boys just aren't themselves. They just want to lie around. No bouncing off walls and flying off chairs today. They are just so quiet. Benson is napping, and I sure do hope that he isn't getting sick. Hopefully we get better soon. Does anyone hear the violins in the background? I know the flowers are random. I am actually posting them for Chandra to see what they looked like.

Pizza with papa
Grammy and Papa took the boys to Pizza Hut and even though the pictures are a little blurry, I thought they were cute. They came off a memory card my dad gave Josh. My boys LOVE their Grammy and Papa so much. They can't get enough of them. When we went out of town last weekend, they were semi-excited to see us come home, but it wasn't long before they were asking when they could spend more time with Grammy and Papa.Bed of Roses

For my birthday, Josh made reservations at the Armstrong Mansion Bed and Breakfast in Salt Lake City. Kimball and McKay stayed with my mom and Benson with us (being that I am still his food source). When we walked into the room, I saw rose petals all over the floor and the bed. There were candles and sparkling cider... oh so "romantical". What a sweetheart. He really went above and beyond to make my birthday special. Thank you sweetie. I love you!
Harry "Poller"
In September, we went to a birthday party for a friend. It was a Harry Potter theme and these glasses were a party favor. He STILL loves wearing these Harry "Poller" glasses, even though he's not got the slightest idea who that is. He insisted on wearing them to church one day (when I was sick and not going because of a migraine) and Dad let him wear them. I am sure that his teachers got a kick out of it. Between that and proudly showing his Spiderman underwear to Ms. Marla (one of his preschool teachers, who happens to be in our ward) during sacrament meeting, I don't think anyone will be surprised at whatever comes next.
More than meets the eye!

Happy Halloween! So, I know that it is really late but... better late than never! Halloween was so much fun. Kimball was super excited to be Optimus Prime (from Transformers). McKay loved his Batman cape, and well, Benson made such a cute little penguin. Kimball kept saying, "Trick-or-treating, I am Optimus Prime! More than meets the eye!" I am not sure why he kept saying trick or treating instead of just trick or treat, but it was cute.

Six insignificant things about me:
Since Hope "tagged" me, and I know that she likes reading these as much as I do... I will post this and tell Chandra and Tiffany that now "TAG, YOU'RE IT!!"
1. I hate doing laundry! It is never done, and the second you think you are done... you are not. Why?? Because the very moment you say to yourself, "Phew! I am done with that," you are wearing clothes that will need to be washed. Your husband is wearing clothes that will need to be washed, and your kids are wearing clothes that will need to be washed. As I am complaining, there is a pile...uhem, a mountain of laundry sitting next to me waiting to be folded. I was going to get started on it, but decided that perhaps it was more important that I tag Chandra. That of course, meant I would need to spend some time posting six insignificant facts about myself, such as this.
2. I used to be a part of the "holy mackerol" group, and I really want to see everyone again. Anyone up for a "thumbs up" reunion? I am all about it. I miss everyone. Aahhh the ever so controversial days of cheerleading. However, when I look back I think of more fun memories and friendship than frustrations. I guess because we all pulled together with a "positve mental attitude." By the way, does anyone still dream that you are late for summer practice and everyone is mad because they have to come earlier???
3. I am having a major complex about my age. I am pretty sure that I am just going to pass over my birthday this year. That should keep me in the mid-twenties, right?
4. My heart melts when my boys wrap their arms around my neck and whisper, "I wuvs you mom." (They both say it that way for whatever reason) I also love it when I see them giving eachother loves and playing so cute together. Last night McKay was SOOO cute when he said "Kimball ate all the popcorn, but I love him still." I mean... that is true brotherly love. I love their laughs, their smiles. I love the way Kimball plays with my hair, McKay asks if he can "hold you" and Benson lights up when his brothers play with him.
5. I obsess over 24. It is SO intense and I can barely wait from week to week for the next episode. It is absolute TORTURE that they make you wait from the finale in May to the premire in JANUARY (for crying out loud... don't you know we want more 24!)
6. I love all things chicken. It is my favorite food, and I was actually offended for a few seconds when Bobby Flay (from the Food Network) said chicken was a bland food. Oh the nerve. Then I decided that what he meant to say was, "Chicken is the most versitial protien because it is complimentary of many different flavors and textures." Then I felt better.

The Great Pumpkin Patch

On Kimball's field trip, we also took a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch where they picked out cute little pumpkins. Once again, I did my best to get a picture... they get so busy they don't want to slow down for second. Kimball kept saying how "great" it was that we got to go to the pumpkin patch, and how "great " it was that he could find a "great" pumpkin for himself and McKay.
Blazing the Maze
We went to the corn maze with Kimball's class, and we had such a good time. We had already been with Grammy and Papa, so Kimball and McKay knew all about it and were excited to "get lost" again. Kimball especially kept trying to "be the leader" and was not about to stay behind with mom. He insisted that he wouldn'tget lost because he was wearing a green shirt like the rest of his class.McKay didn't appreciate being on a leash (literally) either. His monkey backpack has a tail that doubles as a leash. I know, that is embarassing, but I didn't want to lose track of my boys! (Keep in mind my last post-- neither of them are afraid of anything. I wasn't just looking for something to say) Once again, I had a hard time getting them to slow down long enough for me to take their pictures. What I got was lucky!
