Girls weekend...

My mom is so sweet. She got tickets for me, my sister, my grandma Marian, and herself to go to the BYU/ University of Utah gymnastics meet. I was SOOOO excited. We left on Friday morning (thanks to Sha and Kristin for watching my boys for a few hours), and got a little shopping in before the meet.

When we first checked into our hotel, I ran across the street to the Uinta National Forest, where I used to work in Public Affairs. I got to see my good friend Mary. When I worked there, we used to visit and giggle and plan things together. I love Mary! It was so nice to see her and catch up for a few minutes. Hopefully, if your read this Mary, you know how much I enjoyed seeing you!!!

First shopping stop: JC Penny. What do you think of the dresses we "tried on" ??

My sister in her "Little Black Dress"

My mom in her cheery yellow ensemble.

My grandma in her festive "tropical" number.

Me in my mermaid-like dress. Fabulous, isn't it?

After we got our shopping on, we went to the meet where I got a "duel" shirt, (hehe) and enjoyed watching the girls compete. The U of U won, and even though I went to BYU, I was most excited to watch the Lady Utes! (Their reputation precedes them). I loved it all, but the floor competition is my favorite. It made me want to join in!

Before the meet... the anticipation was KILLING me!

Cosmo getting the crowd to cheer for BYU!

University of Utah's gymnastics team

My "Duel" shirt. (Ignore the scraggly hair!)

We went shopping again on Saturday and we shopped until we were completely shopped-out. It was way fun, and I am looking forward to another trip with my mom, grandma and sister. Especially for the pit-stop in Duchesne!! Heeheehee, (seriously, you've gotta check out the convenience store with the Subway. They've got the best dryers for you after you wash your hands!)

Don't you love girls nights... or girls weekends! I am glad you had fun and got to get away... One of these time we will have to plan a floor competition where you can show us all what you can do!

First of all, yes, the pit-stop has amazing hand dryers. We stop there all the time and I always make sure to go use the bathroom because you just don't find hand dryers like that these days!

I'm so glad you got to go have fun with your favorite ladies. You deserve it. I'm jealous you got to see Cosmo in action. My freshman year the joke was that I was in love with Cosmo - you have to admit for a mascot he is super hot!

I LOVE watching the Lady Utes gymnastics. When we lived in Salt Lake, Brandon & I used to go to several meets each year. I miss it. There isn't the same vibe at USU gymnastics as there is at the U. Hardly anybody attends up here, so it's just kind of dead. It's almost like watching a practice instead of a meet.

Glad you had fun! :) Oh, and would you email me Hope's email address? She posted on my blog, but I don't have a way to get in touch with her, and I'd love to catch up! Thanks.
