Poor Kimball came home from school today and told me that his friend didn't want to sit by him. He said that he wanted to sit by another little boy and he thinks that his friend likes this other boy better. He was trying so hard to be brave and not cry. I suggested that he invite both of them to sit with him tomorrow. He said that he could and then he was quiet for a while and tears welled up in his eyes and he said, "Maybe he will sit by me at church." It was SO sad.
I can remember telling my mom about little friend issues and she always made suggestions about how to feel better or to reach out to them. I never knew that it makes a mother feel bad too. Kimball is just so sweet and yes, he is active and busy, but he is also kind and caring. He is really tenderhearted and it broke my heart to see that he had his feelings hurt. He kept telling me it was okay and that he was happy, but his little voice was quivering and his eyes were all teary. Poor brave little man.
This picture was taken at my sister's open house last weekend. I just thought it was sweet because he is holding Kael's hand.
